Andrew Horn of the Dreams for Kids national office was featured on a Washington-area news cast this morning to speak about the organization’s longest-standing tradition: the Holiday for Hope. An event that started twenty years ago with a small group of friends and a single shelter has evolved into event that unfolds through the holiday season — and in more than fifty countries around the world.

Dreams for Kids (and the book Kiss of a Dolphin by founder Tom Tuohy) is FULL of ‘Four Foundations’ stories — hundreds of heroes who work hard, develop discipline, overcome adversity and give to others. The organization’s mission is “to empower young people of all abilities through dynamic leadership programs and life-changing activities that inspire them to fearlessly pursue their dreams and compassionately change the world.”

For the first time in many of their lives, children with physical and/or developmental challenges are introduced to adventure activities such as water skiing, snow skiing, kayaking, rock climbing, hand cycling, horseback riding, scuba diving, camping as well as many more life changing opportunities.
