Do your kids celebrate Valentine’s Day in school? Do they worry and fret about special cards for special people? Or do your school requirements dictate that all cards be that same? Or, ‘in the name of preserving self-esteem’ has your district done away with this sweet celebration?

Valentines days with my childrne is treated as a bit of fun and they send cards outside of school – I think. There is no competition yet but as a child everyone used to turn up and school and brag about how many they got. Not good at all for a childs self-esteem.
Would you be willing to say more about why you think that’s bad “for a childs self-eseem”?
